She has experience working in private practice, university counseling, and church settings where she has had the opportunity to work with both adolescents and adults from all walks of life and varying presenting problems. Some of these include eating disorders, depression, anxiety, relational conflict, life transitions, and low self-esteem, amongst others.
At Carencia, Laena provides individual counseling primarily for adolescent and young adult women with a focus in the areas of body image and eating disorders, depression, and anxiety. Her goal in therapy is to walk alongside clients through past and present difficulties in order to help them experience growth, healing, and freedom.

She believes these skills can equip individuals with the tools necessary to live a confident, enjoyable, and balanced life.
