Police officers and deputies
Patrol, investigations, jail staff, and command. We treat what the calls leave behind and the pressure that follows you home.
You show up for people on their worst day. Someone should show up for you. Carencia treats police, firefighters, EMS crews, and dispatchers across Dallas-Fort Worth, in person or by video.
Chief, wellness coordinator, or peer team? See training for departments.
Most people see a handful of terrible days in a lifetime. You see them every week, then head to the next call like nothing happened. That load builds quietly, and it is easy to hide.
SAMHSA estimates that about 30 percent of first responders develop a condition like depression or PTSD. For everyone else, the number is closer to 20 percent. Struggling after years of hard calls is not weakness. It is a normal response to an abnormal job.
Carencia treats first responders and teaches departments how to protect their own. Both start with the same belief: getting help should be as routine as checking your gear.

Sworn or civilian, active or retired, on the truck or on the radio. If the job runs through your life, this care was built for you.
Patrol, investigations, jail staff, and command. We treat what the calls leave behind and the pressure that follows you home.
Fire, rescue, and medical runs stacked over long station nights. We work on the trauma load and the sleep debt that comes with it.
Back-to-back runs, hard outcomes, and no time to reset. Care for medics who carry other people's worst days.
You work the call before anyone else arrives. What you hear counts too, and so does your recovery.
The job does not always stay behind when you leave it. It is never too late to deal with what it left.
Shift work, close calls, and quiet worry reach the whole house. We care for adult family members too.
Some of this may sound familiar. None of it means you are broken, and all of it responds to the right care. You do not need a diagnosis or a referral to begin.
Reruns of bad calls, edginess, broken sleep, or feeling shut off from people you love. PTSD responds to proven treatment, and much of ours works by video.
How we treat PTSD and trauma →Hypervigilance keeps you alive on shift and wears you down off it. We treat the thought patterns and the stress response that drives them.
Anxiety care at Carencia →When flat or dark weeks stack up, get a real evaluation instead of pushing through. For depression that has not responded to other care, we also offer Spravato and ketamine.
Our approach to mood disorders →A drink to come down after shift can slowly turn into a need. Our addiction psychiatry treats the use and what sits underneath it.
How we approach addiction →Some calls clash with everything you signed up to protect. Therapy gives that weight somewhere to go, with someone who will not flinch.
Talk therapy at Carencia →Rotating shifts wreck sleep, and poor sleep feeds everything else. We check labs, hormones, and habits along with your mental health.
Our approach to physical health →These are the patterns we see most, and there are more. See everything we treat.
In crisis right now? Call or text 988 for the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, any hour, any day. If someone is in immediate danger, call 911. For everything short of an emergency, we are here.

Start with a full evaluation, in person or by video. We look at your history, your sleep, your labs when they help, and what the job has asked of you. Then we build a plan that may include therapy, medication, or both.
Our providers are licensed across Texas. Many first responders handle most visits by video between shifts and come in when it helps. Saturday morning appointments are available too.

We teach at stations, academies, and department events across the metroplex. Sessions cover stress, sleep, warning signs, and how to check on a partner who seems off. The goal is a shop where asking for help is treated like any other safety habit.
Chiefs, wellness coordinators, and peer teams: reach out and we will plan something for your crew, shaped around your agency, your schedule, and your budget.
Some of the departments and agencies we have supported, in care, in trainings, or both.
...and more departments and agencies across the metroplex.
First responder therapy practices we work with
A local peer network where metroplex first responders support each other, meeting across Fort Worth and the mid-cities. We point patients to their meetings and back their work.
Insurance should not be the reason you put off care. We are in network with most major plans, including the carriers many cities and districts use, and we check your benefits before your first visit.

We work with more plans than we can list here. Do not see yours? Ask us and we will check your coverage before your first visit.
Using insurance? You pay your plan's rate, often just a copay, not the amounts above.
Our Texas team sees first responders in person in Fort Worth and Arlington and by video statewide. It includes providers certified in addiction care and providers with years of hospital psychiatry behind them.

The honest answers, up front. If yours is not here, reach out and ask. No pitch, no pressure.
No. Your care here is private medical care, separate from your department. We do not report visits to your employer. The law carves out rare exceptions, like an immediate risk of harm, and we talk with you first whenever we can.
No. You can book directly through our Get Started page. You do not need to have the words for what is going on yet. That part is our job.
Yes. Our providers are licensed across Texas, and most visits work well by video. Office hours run Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, plus Saturday mornings. Many first responders mix video visits with the occasional office visit.
We are in network with most major plans, including most PPOs that cities and districts offer. Self-pay is $225 for a first visit and $150 for follow-up medication management. First responders who qualify can also use the American Warrior Association's R3 grant program. Full details are on the coverage and fees page.
Yes. The job reaches the whole house, and we see adult family members as patients too. Ask about the right fit when you reach out.
Whatever your agency needs. Common sessions cover stress, sleep, warning signs, and how to check on a partner. We teach at stations, academies, and department events, and we shape it to your schedule. Reach out through our Get Started page and mention your department.
If you might hurt yourself, call or text 988 now, or call 911 if there is immediate danger. If it is not an emergency, book online and tell us it feels urgent. We will get you in as fast as we can.
